CTV Kano

The corporation is divided in to three different departments, namely Television directorate, Engineering Services, and Admin & general services, each headed by a director.

Television directorate.
This department has two major divisions, Programmes & Productions, and News & Current affairs. It is responsible for initiating all programme ideas, and developing them from initial idea in to finished programmes. These Programmes fall under six units, namely Drama unit, Religious unit, Light entertainment, Public affairs, Women & children, & Special coverage unit. While production includes art & design, Camera operations, Film editing, vision & sound mixers, transmission controllers and library. News & current affairs division includes translation, current affairs, news, reportorial, & research units.


Engineering department.
This department is responsible for installation, operation & general maintenance of all equipment and machinery of the corporation. It has four units, Studio operations, transmitters, Plants unit, and auxiliary services.

Administration & General Services.
The department consists of two basic divisions, namely general administration & Accounts. This department deals with personnel matters and general coordination of all administrative matters; it serves as a service center to other departments and coordinates all financial matters of the corporation.

Commercial unit.
This unit is headed by a manager under the supervision of the CEO. It is charged with the responsibilities of generating revenue through the sale of airtime to corporate bodies or individuals by soliciting sponsorship of airing productions.

Internal Audit unit.
This unit is headed by an internal auditor, under the office of the CEO. It serves as a unit of preauditing and post auditing the corporation’s expenses.
